Fable, a seventeen year old girl, abandoned by her father, the most powerful trader of the Narrow, tries to survive and find her place in the world of dangerous sea ruled by men. Romance and adventure is top notch.
Fable fell short for me. Reason is pretty simple that it’s boring. Nothing about the characters drew me in. Although I did enjoyed the pirate world. I agreed with all the people who didn’t enjoy this book, the ones who seemed to regret it. I was expecting a more powerful story like how in the end a girl power rise against patriarchy but it’s just another fantasy story about a girl we’re all supposed to believe as special.
In Namesake, Fable and her crew/friends are back with captivating and romantic adventure that picks up exactly where Fable left off. New characters were introduced, new elements were put into place. Namesake does an excellent job at clearly my confusion about fable and her childhood. I enjoyed it more than the first part.
#qotd: What do you prefer? Action on land or action in sea?

I enjoyed both of these though I agree with your comments. There wasn’t an “epic” feel to the book, but it did hold my attention. I’m glad the second one worked better for you. 🙂
